The referring link is one of the most basic and efficient tools to investigate frauds and/or violations of policy.
Currently, the "evaluation page" URL and "platform choice" URL are the same:
Example: go.agency.com/brand.com
Therefore, Google, Facebook, etc., can easily see the "gating feature" just by accessing to the current referring link.
If this happens, we are all in deep trouble! Climbo's API's can be revoked, and most importantly, our clients profiles can be banned for good!
But if Climbo changes only the "platform choice" URL, then Google, Facebook, etc., won't see the "gating page" (evaluation page).
They will only see the "platform choice" page, which is the referring link to them.
This way, we, our customers, and Climbo, will have an HUGE layer of protection just by making this simple change.
REMEMBER: If your client's pages gets banned (GMB, FB Page, etc.), EVERYTHING goes down the drain! It's over!
Additionally, they can sue your company because YOUR software was the reason why they got banned from Google, Facebook, etc.

I don't think this would happen if you think about it a bit further, because Google would land themselves a Nice Class Action Suit in the US. Remember it's the Business' Customer NOT Google's. The Communist Gorilla wants to Think they can get away with, but on this angle they can't. If they do, it be be a Great Lawsuit for the Country and all the Sharks would have field day with it ";p

it would make sense to me that there is a third step, and we can ask for private feedback even when the experience is positive. 1. Review Page with Star Rating -> 2. Feedback Form -> 3. Platform Selection for Public Review.

This makes the most sense to me

IMPORTANT NOTE: I don't want to spread FUD.
Our clients are safe on Google! The main problem here is the POSSIBILITY of our clients pages to get removed/banned from other review platforms (Facebook, Trustpilot, Yelp, Booking, etc...), due to "gating practices".
The most easy and common way the review platforms can know that the gating is being practiced is from the referring link. By changing that, they don't EASILY know that we are gating the reviews. It's a HUGE LAYER OF PROTECTION, but not 100% protection.
If we want to REALLY MAKE 100% SURE that the gating is not exposed, then Climbo needed to restructure the way they ask for reviews. The gating should take place on the review request itself (e.g. EMAIL star's links), and not on the landing page links. That way we are 100% protected...no doubt about it!
The problem is that this is only possible with email requests, in-app surveys (all APPS do this!), and some other "internal ways". If we do that in Climbo, we will lose the ability to collect reviews by SMS, QR Codes and WhatsApp. We don't want to lose that, right? So forget about the 100% protection from being caught at gating. That's not possible! You should be aware and deal with it.
But if we could get a 90% protection just by changing the referring URL, that would be a HUGE LAYER OF PROTECTION! That's all I want with this...nothing less, nothing more.

I hope this will be fixed as soon as possible.
As you say if this happens, the whole purpose of Climbo goes down.

Should we worry about this since Climbo is GMB api partnered per the faq section? ( Correct me If I am wrong )
SaaS PT
Currently, Climbo is compliant to GMB, as it offers a direct link to follow through (instead of leaving private feedback). We should only be worried about the POSSIBILITY of our clients pages be banned from ALL OTHER platforms, as there is no link to follow through to those platforms.
Regarding API access, GMB should be protected, as Climbo is compliant.
Right now the only API access in POSSIBLE jeopardy is Facebook's, IF they don't allow gating (I don't know if they even contemplate that in their API TOS)
As far as I know, Climbo does not use any other API.
So API related, right now we are relatively safe.
The real problem is if our clients pages get removed from the review platforms (Facebook, Trustpilot, Yelp, etc...), due to "gating practices". That's the worst that can happen.
